Snowflake prints

Posted on: January 15, 2012

In this two part project, we made snowflake prints using skewers, and will finish by making snowflake mobiles.

I made different snowflakes using a die cut machine.  You could also make your own snowflake shapes and make this a three part project.  We put the snowflakes on top of a piece of cardstock and put drops of different colored paint on the snowflake.

We ran the skewer across the top of the snowflake and watched as the colors mixed together.

Then removed the snowflake, and we saw beautiful snowflake prints.

When the snowflakes dry, we will make snowflake mobiles.  So be sure to come back tomorrow for this post.

These turned out beautifully! Perfect for both my sons, because the art is more “process” than “product” and doesn’t have to look a certain way to be pretty. I can’t wait to see the mobiles. Pinning this great idea!

wow thats turned out really well. I’ll have to give this a try. I’m surprised the paint didn’t run under the snowflake.
